This level is inspired by multiple games and their level design. I wanted to create an area that shows a transition from the familiar organic world into an eerie, bioluminescent underworld, where natural laws subtly warp as the player descends. The environment shifts from warm, sunlit caverns to a surreal, shadowy realm suffused with unnatural hues and glowing life.
Narrative Overview

The player battled through a hostile camp to reach the Abyss, a bottomless chasm hiding a legendary relic of unknown power—salvation or ruin. As they descend, natural light fades, replaced by an eerie glow from the Abyss itself. The path is littered with corpses, broken gear, and warnings from past explorers, foreshadowing dangers ahead.
Player Goals

Fight sellswords (rival treasure hunters) and the Abyss’s Guardian.

Navigate treacherous terrain with platforming, climbing, and vertical combat.

Uncover the relic’s secrets before it’s too late.

Walkthrough

Layout Overview

Quest Flow
Entrance & Quest
Player will enter the Grand Lift. The dialogue will explain the goal of this level and meet Lania at the bottom of the lift who will ask the player for help.
Cave Are
Player enters the cave area and need to navigate the area by platforming and killing some enemies along the way. The NPC is not at this location first.
Reach the End of the Level
Player will encounter the final boss of this area. The boss is the guardian that Lania requested to kill. The player will need to eliminate the boss to progress further into the level.
Return to Complete Quest
Player now need to turn back to the cave via shortcut and tell Lania that the Gardian has been defeated. Lania will then open the way to the next area.
